SECONDS THAT PASS
"Seconds That Pass" is a term long project that is driven by a prompt of the theme  "simple design, big impact". With the final deliverables being a two dimensional, three dimensional,  four dimensional, and experimental piece, the final execution focuses on creating an overall interactive series of designs.  I chose to focus my deliverables on playing with perceptions, patience and anticipation to build a large impact. Challenges human tendencies and  lack of patience to create a series of work that are meant to get the audience to stop, slow down, and appreciate the seconds that pass.
Collection of 6 posters that document the exhibition as an introduction to the overall theme, Each poster measure at a size of 30x40 inches and are all printed on a 40lb premium poster paper. The final products are hung spanning across a long wall documenting the overarching theme as an opening for the exhibition "simple design, big impact"
"WAIT A MINUTE" ANIMATION
Two minute animation enhancing the concept of building anticipation, testing patience, and enhancing frustration. The video format is so simple, yet when forced to exist and watch the video, us humans began to feel angry and impatient waiting for something to happen. When this presentation was brought to an audience of people, it is interesting to see reactions as to who simply waits and who begins getting fluster or simply looses focus. All in all, it acts as a self reflection piece testing the patience levels of current humans.  For best interactivity, watch in a group and analyze how different people react and their attention span in relation to yours.
VOICE RECORDING BUTTONS
This three dimensional piece features a series of 6 buttons. Each button tells a small portion of a sentence that is left unfinished. One button records a second clock ticking as each second passes. As humans, it is human nature that we like to push/press buttons. I play with this simple human urge and conduct a series of buttons that are simply left on a table with no description, instruction, or guidance. The intention, for them to be simply pressed. To exist in the moment, pushing some buttons to feel gratification and satisfaction. However, the lack of a final response is what leads the viewers to this undetermined final product. Since we are so accustomed to "speeding up process" to get to the end result, this series does the complete opposite. No end result, no final hurrah to confuse the viewer and create a larger impact.
"TICKING AWAY" ANIMATION
A short animation with a rhythm of sound to document the simple motion of an endless cycle of time. As each second goes by, something passes, life passes, minutes pass, days, months, years. The design for the animation to prove how no matter the action you're doing or the stage in life, all humans are stuck in this endless cycle of continuous counting time.

A final printed reflection book that documents the process from start to finish from the term. The book features a series of chapters such as early brainstorming, stylistic choices, and a reflection of each part of the creation of each piece. The book is designed to be read from front to back and measures at a size of 8x6 inches. It is printed and perfect bound myself using a handmade paper press and a collection of materials.
